Aluminium or PVC near the sea?
Both cope well with humidity and salt: they do not rust like iron or swell like wood. Powder-coated aluminium allows larger doors and dark colours; PVC insulates a little better against heat and noise.
How secure is the door?
Multipoint lock, security hinges and laminated glass in the glazed part. It is what we recommend most for homes that stay empty for part of the year.
Is building work needed to replace the door?
Usually not: the old door is removed and the new one is fitted in the same opening with cover trims. We check this when measuring and tell you before we start.
