How much does it cost to replace windows in Spain in 2026?

What the price of a window depends on

• Material: PVC is usually cheaper than thermal break aluminium for the same size.
• Size and number of panels: a two-panel window costs more than a single one; a sliding patio door considerably more.
• Opening type: casement, tilt-and-turn or sliding.
• Glass: double glazing as standard; low-e, solar control or laminated safety glass cost extra.
• Colour: white is the cheapest; colours and wood effect have a supplement.
• Roller shutter and insect screen, if you want them with the window.
• Quantity: orders of more than 10 products get a 5 % discount.

Three complete examples

1. Flat: 4 windows and a French door

Four two-panel PVC windows of 1200 × 1200 mm and a two-panel French door of 1400 × 2100 mm: about €1,995 – 2,730 at factory price.

2. Opening the living room to the terrace with a big sliding door

A two-panel PVC sliding door of 2000 × 2100 mm costs €580 – 795; if you prefer slimmer frames, a three-panel thermal break aluminium sliding door of 3000 × 2100 mm costs €1,105 – 1,520.

3. Villa: 8 windows, 2 French doors and a sliding door

Eight two-panel PVC windows of 1200 × 1200 mm, two French doors of 1400 × 2100 mm and a patio sliding door of 2000 × 2100 mm make 11 products, so the 5 % discount applies: about €4,300 – 5,900 at factory price.

Indicative supplements for a two-panel PVC window of 1200 × 1200 mm:

VAT, fitting and other costs

• VAT (IVA): 21 % in general. Some home renovations can have 10 % if certain conditions are met; we tell you which applies to you.
• Fitting: done by our own team and quoted after measuring, because it depends on the job: height, access, number of windows and whether there are shutters or bars.
• Removal of the old windows and finishing: always ask whether they are included in the quote, ours or anyone else's.
• Paperwork: depending on the town, replacing windows may need a simple works notice (comunicación previa or declaración responsable) at the town hall; enclosing a terrace also needs the community of owners. See terrace enclosure permits.

How to save without losing quality

1. Group the order: from 11 products, 5 % discount.
2. Choose white PVC where colour does not matter: the most economical, and it insulates very well.
3. Use special glass only where needed: solar control on south and west façades, laminated on the ground floor.
